About the Job:

In this position, you will be responsible for the Taproom's performance, including customer experience, Taproom operations, staff training, and special events coordination and management.


  • Be an ambassador for Galveston Bay Beer Company. 

  • Work with management to creatively promote new beers & events.

  • Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all customers.

Staff and Operations

  • Enforce all policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations, within the Taproom.

  • Ensure staff knows of upcoming events/specials and is informing customers.

  • Maintain daily cleanliness of the Taproom, draft cooler, and surrounding areas.

  • Ensure staff maintains a clean workspace, bar, bathrooms, and tables before, during, and after hours of operation.

  • Make sure staff is using proper pouring and serving technique for the style of beer.

  • Ensure the staff has an in-depth knowledge of all the beers on tap, ingredients used, and styles.

  • Scheduling, training, and discipline of Taproom staff.

  • Maintain inventory of all glassware, merchandise, non-alcoholic beverages, and small wares.

  • Quality Control. Taste beer taps daily to assure the highest quality is maintained; Look, smell, taste.


  • POS system knowledge. Open and close the cash register and POS system daily during hours of operation and special events. Train shift leaders to complete the same tasks in your absence.

  • Improve company financial health by staffing the Taproom appropriately, minimizing waste, and ensuring staff are fulfilling their responsibilities and departing and arriving at the appropriate times.

  • Report to management to coordinate day-to-day operational flow.

  • Complete reports to the management as instructed.

  • Record daily sales deposits.

  • Maintain cash necessary to tip out staff, maintain appropriate denominations to make change, and deposit excess amounts.

Promotion and Events

  • Create, schedule, and post daily content on all social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

  • Manage digital presence, including social media and email, promptly respond to all questions and comments, perform outreach to grow brand engagement and followers.

  • Market, plan, and help coordinate events at the brewery, including corporate functions, bridal showers, birthdays, etc.



  • 2+ years experience in a beverage hospitality management role

  • Strong knowledge of craft beer

  • Must be an excellent communicator

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 

  • Must be able to travel to and participate in festivals and beer-related events occasionally.

  • Must have basic computer skills and aptitude, specifically working with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps. Experience with Slack.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

  • Must be passionate and knowledgeable about craft beer!


  • This is a full-time salaried position and will occasionally require weekend, late-night, and holiday work. 

  • Salary commensurate with experience.
